For three days after Irving requested a trade earlier this month, many speculated that the two NBA stars would, once again, flaunt the same jersey. LeBron voiced the desire to play with Irving. However, Kyrie marched toward the Dallas Maverick roster, putting an end to speculations and earning a reaction from James himself. With that said, solace was found during the All-Star Weekend. As the discussions around the one-game teammates continued, LeBron showered heaps of praise on Irving, leaving Los Angeles Lakers troubled.

Following this, he said, “I’m very proud of him. Very proud of the man that he’s become in his life right now.” The four-time finals MVP added that it was special to team up with a “guy that you watch play, that you admire play.”

As videos of this response made rounds online, Laker Nation rushed to Twitter to weigh in on the comments. For fans, this felt like LeBron was recruiting Irving to play with the Lakers next year. Four-time NBA Champion voiced out disappointment

NBA’s All-Time leading scorer voiced that he would love to have Kyrie on the Lakers roster. However, when this failed, he claimed to be disappointed. In an interview with ESPN, James said, “I can’t sit here and say I’m not disappointed on not being able to land such a talent.” The disappointment deepened when the talent in question was someone who LeBron had great chemistry with and was certain to bag a championship title.
