It is not a common sight to see records being broken. Moreover, it is difficult to even close up on some records. Notably, Wilt Chamberlain’s 100 points in a single game. Well, there is only one player who came somewhat close to it. Devin Booker took the NBA world by storm in 2017.

Then 20 years old, Book gave the TD Garden crowd a show. On March 24, 2017, he became only the 6th player to ever score 70 points in an NBA game. Even though the Suns could not get the win, TD Garden went wild that night as they experienced history right in front of their eyes.

The last person to score over 70 points was Kobe Bryant. Hence, the comparisons between Booker and Bryant were flying in. Moreover, as ‘The Mamba’ is Booker’s mentor as well, to follow in his footsteps would have meant everything to him.

Since then, no player has scored 70 or more points in an NBA game. Booker etched himself into the history books forever, doing something no one expected that day. Against a tough TD Garden crowd, he turned them around with his performance.
