The Golden State Warriors have had a rocky start to their season so far. With Stephen Curry out for the next couple of weeks, their troubles seemed to have just started. When the Warriors took on the Philadelphia 76ers recently, their problems became more than evident. The Dubs fielded a backcourt of Jordan Poole and Donte DiVincenzo in the absence of Curry and Klay Thompson. Safe to say, they played their part well, prompting Stephen Curry comparisons.

DiVincenzo took most of the limelight with his shooting against the 76ers. With Steph Curry in attendance, he converted multiple three-pointers which sent the crowd and Curry into a frenzy. Moreover, a mic’d up Steve Kerr praised the youngster taking the center stage in Steph Curry’s absence.

The defending champions have not had the best of starts to their season. Four-time NBA champion Stephen Curry has been the flagbearer for the Golden State Warriors throughout the season, putting up generational numbers on the statsheet.

However, due to his absence, the team has a hit huge roadblock on their way to the playoffs. They fielded a backcourt of Jordan Poole and Donte DiVincenzo, who replaced Klay Thompson and Steph. Donte DiVincenzo had a phenomenal performance against Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers.

He scored 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists against the 76ers and shot 46% from the field. Not bad for someone who is playing in place of Stephen Curry!

With DiVincenzo putting on a show for the crowd, an elated Steve Kerr could be heard saying, “Welcome home baby, let’s go. Meanwhile, one commentator exclaimed,” Who needs Steph Curry?”, after witnessing smooth jumpers from the 25-year-old star. Despite such a brilliant performance, his heroics weren’t enough to get past the 76ers. The Warriors lost the game 118-106 with Joel Embiid adding 34 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 assists to the tally.

When will Curry be back on the court for the Warriors?

Two-time MVP Stephen Curry injured his left shoulder during the game against the Indiana Pacers, which the Warriors lost 125-119. Following the initial tests, reports claim that he will be missing action for a few weeks.
