Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James can very well be counted among the oldest active NBA players in the league. The 4x NBA champion entered his 20th season last year and recently reached a major milestone that will go down in the history of the league. The newly crowned scoring leader might be 38 years old but is by no means lagging behind when it comes to his hooping skills. While King James is well-aware of his ‘senior status’ in the league, the same could not be said about fellow basketball star Damian Lillard.

LeBron James gives Damian Lillard a reality check

Shortly after the All-Star game concluded, the official account of NBA released a short clip on Twitter that immediately snagged fans’ attention. The video showed a brief conversation between LeBron James and Damian Lillard that most probably took place after the game ended. In the clip, Lillard pointed out to LeBron that the latter did not include him when he was talking about the young players. In response, the 19x NBA All-Star felt it necessary to remind Lillard that he was not young anymore.

Damian Lillard: “I heard when you were saying all these youngins, you didn’t name me.”

32-year-old Lillard is in his 11th season and has been playing for the Portland Trail Blazers since he was drafted in 2012. The 7x NBA All-Star might not be a ‘young-un’ but he sure does not lack in skills. Lillard is currently averaging 31.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 7.3 assists.

NBA fans’ rection to Lillard’s denial

Shortly after the video was uploaded, it didn’t take long for Twitterati to give their take on the matter. The majority of the social media users nodded along with LeBron’s opinion. One fan wrote, “Why is Dame in denial about this? Just embrace it… He had the same weird energy about it when he was on Haynes and Stein’s pod.”
