LeBron James is still relevant. Stepping into his 19th NBA season, the Akron Hammer holds the potential to win the individual awards as much as a 22-YO does. But still, there are analysts and fans who don’t believe he can beat the young guns.

It has been ages since the L-Train won his last MVP award in 2013, playing for Miami Heat. Although he did win the FMVP honor twice after that in 2016 and 2020, the legend couldn’t beat his counterparts for the much-cherished regular-season MVP. Recently, a comment from a former NBA Champion hinted that he too does not believe Bron stands a chance.

Richard Jefferson with a warning towards LeBron James

Recently, Richard Jefferson, Cassidy Hubbarth, and Ramona Shelburne sat to discuss the MVP odds for the 2021-22 season. In a unanimous tone, all three of them believed that Nikola Jokic does have a chance to win consecutive awards if his numbers add up.

The 41-YO NBA analyst further argued how improving one’s team and getting a better regular-season record can help Joker win it over anyone. In fact, the Caesars Sportsbook’s MVP odds placed Bron in the sixth position. The odds favored Luka Doncic (#1), Kevin Durant (#2), Joel Embiid (#3), Giannis Antetokounmpo (#4), and Steph Curry (#5), ahead of Bron.

That’s when Ramona crossed RJ and predicted Bron would tweet against the opinion. RJ, who won his 17-year NBA career’s only championship, playing alongside LeBron James, responded, “If I see one more washed king, I’m gonna unfollow them”. The former champion with the Cavs said that in reference to Bron calling himself washed in an interview earlier this year. Take a look –

What can stop the Lakers leader from becoming the MVP?

For one, the incoming of Russell Westbrook on the team can impact LeBron James’ numbers. So it would be tough for the aging king to defend his average against the inflated figures of Giannis, Nikola, and others.

Plus, the narrative that King James has so many All-Stars on his squad can work against him if The Process can put his team on top with an inferior roster. Lastly, if everything still falls in place, Bron’s body must support him for 75+ games in order to make his case stronger.

Well, the 4x NBA Champion might not entertain this assessment as he did not like the fans poking fun at the Lakers’ old roster. But do you agree with the aforementioned comments? Help us learn your opinion in the comments section below.
