Two years ago, Kobe Bryant and eight others lost their lives in a helicopter crash. A sense of dread set on the world, especially in the city of Los Angeles. His wife, Vanessa had tragically lost both her husband and her daughter, Gianna. However, recently, the 40-year-old was hit with another nightmare. Firefighters and members of the sheriff’s department leaked photos of the gruesome crash to the outside world. Having panic attacks on just hearing the news, Vanessa Bryant took the fight to court.
The testimonies revealed the acts of the firefighter and sheriff’s department deputies who showed off the pictures outside of the proceedings. Likewise, the jury found Los Angeles County guilty. Vanessa Bryant was subsequently awarded $16 million for emotional distress caused during the entirety of the event.

Like the Bryant household, Chester lost loved ones in the Calabasas crash. He lost his wife, Sarah, and 13-year-old daughter, Payton Chester. Likewise, he also joined in on the fight for justice for his own family. In the case of civil rights, Chester was awarded a sum of $15 million. However, it seems the court meant to be giving out equal rewards to both parties.

The errors were made in the verdict form as Bryant was awarded an extra million dollars for past distress. Hence, Vanessa Bryant will have to give up the required sum. And the 40-year-old has no problems whatsoever. Bryant’s lawyer, Luis Li issued a statement claiming the same and said the jury doesn’t need to sit down once again.

Vanessa Bryant just wanted to bring the civil rights case to the front. She hopes this case will be the alarm to stop callous behavior. As for the money, she intended to continue the legacy of the Los Angeles Lakers legend and their daughter Gianna. All the proceeds will go to the ‘Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation’.
Vanessa Bryant was focused more on bringing justice to her family rather than the money awarded, claimed her attorney. However, Bryant stayed true to her intentions and will not fight for any extra money. This could finally make the end of the emotional trial of the Kobe Bryant crash photo case.
