The Boston Celtics will conclude their two games trip in Motor City on Sunday afternoon. They will once again take on the Detroit Pistons, who defeated them in their last fixture. The game will take place in Detroit at 3:00 PM ET. Can the Celtics take revenge on the Pistons this time? That remains one of the biggest questions prior to the game.
Last time, the Pistons handed the Celts a 96-93 loss, that too without their star forward Blake Griffin. Following that victory, the Pistons finally registered their first win for the season and their record improved to 1-4.

For the Celtics, that defeat is something to look back at and reevaluate their mistakes. No one expected them to lose against a Blake Griffin-less Pistons. Ahead of the fixture, let’s take a look at the latest injury updates and the expected lineups for both sides.
Boston Celtics injury updates and predicted lineup
Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown scored a combined 53 points last time against the Pistons. However, once again, the Celtics couldn’t win the game behind a solid performance by their duo. Kemba Walker will not be back anytime soon, so the team needs to come up with a better strategy in their upcoming games.

Along with Walker, Romeo Langford and Javonte Green will also remain sidelined against the Pistons. So the expected lineup for them is Marcus Smart (G), Jaylen Brown (G), Jayson Tatum (F), Tristan Thompson (F), and Daniel Theis (C).

Detroit Pistons injury updates and predicted lineup
The Pistons finally snapped out of their losing streak in their last game vs the Celtics. However, the job will not get any easier for them in the coming weeks. With Blake Griffin to miss their next game due to a concussion he suffered against the Warriors, other players need to step up.

Guard Frank Jackson is also out for another game, as he didn’t travel with the team. Keeping these injury updates in mind, the Pistons are expected to enter the court with Killian Hayes (G), Josh Jackson (G), Jerami Grant (F), Saddiq Bey (F), and Mason Plumlee (C).

Game prediction
Despite the Boston Celtics losing their last game against Detroit, they are definitely a notch above them. Moreover, they lost the fixture by just 3 points. If they perform at their 100% they should be able to split this trip to the Motor City 1 game apiece.
