The Los Angeles Lakers take on the Detroit Pistons in their continued road trip in the Eastern Conference. The Lakers just got handed their first defeat on the road by the Philadelphia 76ers. It was a close game between two MVP contenders in LeBron James and Joel Embiid. However, the Lakers have been in sublime form this season, and have one of the best records in the NBA.

The Detroit Pistons, on the other hand, have been polar opposites this year. They currently have a 4-14 record, one of the worst in the NBA so far. Veteran players like Derrick Rose and Blake Griffin have played well, but not enough to overcome their opponents. The Pistons are currently on track to miss the playoffs again.

Currently, the Lakers have most of their key players fit. Only Kostas Antetokounmpo and Jared Dudley are out due to injuries. But they rarely get minutes when healthy. LeBron James and Anthony Davis are back to full fitness and beginning to find their form, with both players dropping 30+ points recently.

The Pistons will be without star rookie Killian Hayes. He has been ruled out with a hip injury for the next few months. On the other hand, veteran players like Rose, Griffin, and Jerami Grant are still active and ready to go for the Pistons. They can rely on their bench to provide alternative options.

The Lakers have been in spectacular form this season. Despite coming into the game off the back of a loss, they will be motivated and feel ready to win. The Pistons have not shown themselves to be a credible threat to any team, as the franchise continues to transition into a rebuild.
