Will LeBron James and Anthony Davis Play Tonight? New Orleans Pelicans vs Los Angeles Lakers: Injury News, Lineup, and Prediction

January 16, 2021 12:30 am

The Los Angeles Lakers take on the New Orleans Pelicans tonight in a Western Conference clash. Anthony Davis will be playing against his former team. Both he and LeBron James have been in good form, as they’ve led the Lakers to the best record in the NBA at 10-3.

The Pelicans, on the other hand, have fallen off from their strong start to the season. The Pelicans currently have a 4-6 record and are on a four-game losing streak. However, the team does have a lot of potential with the young core of Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, and Zion Williamson. If those three players perform well, they will provide a tough challenge for the Lakers.

With that in mind, take a look at the Lakers game against the Pelicans.

The Lakers will be without Wesley Matthews and Jared Dudley. While Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Anthony Davis, and LeBron James are listed as questionable, they played their previous two games and can be expected to play once again. Another player that is unavailable is Kostas Antetokounmpo.

The Lakers will be mostly at full strength.

Predicted Lineup: Dennis Schroder, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Marc Gasol

The New Orleans Pelicans are a little more hamstrung going into the game. While Zion Williamson will be back for the game against the Los Angeles Lakers, Eric Bledsoe is listed as questionable. Lonzo Ball is out for the game as well. However, Brandon Ingram and Steven Adams are ready to go.

Predicted Line-up: Josh Hart, Eric Bledsoe, Brandon Ingram, Zion Williamson, Steven Adams

The Lakers have been on a solid run so far, winning 10 of their first 13 games while the Pelicans have lost most of their early-season momentum. However, the Pelicans will have Zion Williamson back. Williamson is a beast on the court, and he can do whatever he wants when he plays. Can he lead them to a win to break the losing streak?

Prediction: The Pelicans upset the Lakers, thanks to Williamson and Ingram playing great basketball.

Who will win the game between the Lakers and the Pelicans? With LeBron James and Zion Williamson on the court, fans could see the young prodigy usurp the King.
