The Boston Celtics hold just a slightly higher winning percentage than the Golden State Warriors at the moment. The Cs wouldn’t be dwelling on their Lakers’ loss too much, as they will play a flurry of Western Conference teams in their upcoming games. They will first play Golden State on Tuesday.

Boston had three straight games postponed due to health and safety protocols, which put a pause on their four-game winning streak early in January. Their upcoming clash against Golden State will be an interesting one, considering it will be a road game at the Bay Area.

The Warriors have Eric Paschall on the day-to-day list, as the sophomore guard sat out the second half during the recent Pistons game due to back spasms. Other than that, the Dubs only have the long-term absentees missing the Celtics game.

Boston has been an excellent all-round team to watch, and their star duo is already filling up the stat lines. While Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have been firing from the wings, the Celtics at times tend to slip up on the offense.

The Celtics have lost eight games, and half of them ended under a five-point margin. However, with Kemba Walker just coming in, the team is expected to pick up their pace and thrive in the East.

Boston saw one of its starters returning from injury, but now they have another who’s sidelined due to the same. The Celtics revealed that Marcus Smart has suffered a Grade I Calf Strain that he picked up during their loss to the Lakers on Saturday. Smart’s expected to miss two to three weeks of action.

Prediction

Golden State and Boston are not in ideal positions at the moment, and both teams would badly want this win in their bags. The Warriors might have the slight advantage as the buzzing threat of Marcus Smart has been eliminated from their plans.

It has been a tough week for the Celtics, and they have five straight road games against Western teams lined up next. Getting past the Golden State Warriors might not be easy, but a clinical performance can propel them towards a successful path in the league.
