When Shaq joined the Los Angeles Lakers from the Orlando Magic, he signed the biggest contract at the time. Also, he endorsed a lot of high-profile products during his career. He also became an entrepreneur and started investing. As per reports, O’Neal now runs more than 200 companies. The five-time NBA champion joined the league before he graduated. Even though his parents were happy he was a superstar in the league, they still wanted him to graduate. So the Los Angeles Lakers legend went back to college and completed his graduation in 2000.

However, O’Neal did not like the fact that people working for him treated him like he didn’t understand business during meetings. So he wanted to be in charge of his businesses and decided to pursue a master’s degree in business.

Shaquille O’Neal did not stop there. He then went on to receive a doctorate in education. Recently, during his tour, Shaq talked about his desire to pursue law and build a law firm at an event in Australia.
O’Neal said, “I will have one of the most powerful law firms in the country. It’s not a law, but it is well known that in order to have a law firm, you have to be a lawyer. So I thought about going to law school many times.”

At this point, fans won’t even be surprised if the “Big Diesel” becomes a lawyer someday.

The former MVP disclosed that this strategy was inspired by Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos. And the strategy has definitely helped him over the years.
At the moment, Shaq has a net worth of $400 million reportedly. And $292 million came from his NBA salaries. He still earns $60 million per year as a salary for endorsements.
