The Los Angeles Lakers suffer yet another loss for the season. The shorthanded Memphis Grizzlies took them down with a series of late game buckets to seal the deal. Lakers fall back to .500 while the Grizzlies rack up their 6th win in the last 7 games. Moreover, they snapped their 4 game losing streak to the Lakers as well.

Despite being without Ja Morant and Brooks, the Grizzlies impressed once again. After going back and forth with the Lakers, they took over from late in the third all the way to the end of the game. Jaren Jackson Jr. and Desmond Bane emerged as the stars in the win while LeBron James put up a triple double that went in vain.

LeBron James with the century of triple doubles

Despite the Lakers taking the 95-108 loss, James continued to grow his legacy. This game marked the 100th time James posted a triple double in his career. He became just the fifth player to get to the 100 mark joining Jason Kidd, Magic Johnson, Oscar Robertson, and his teammate, Russell Westbrook, on that list. He is also the only player to have a triple double against all 30 teams. However, the game was not one he will remember.

After the game was tied in the third quarter, the Grizzlies took their home support and put on a show. They took advantage of the defensive hole in the Lakers and kept scoring. Bane had 23 points and 3 rebounds to his name. Jaren Jackson Jr. had yet another 20+ point game and proved his worth.

For the Lakers, their defensive schemes continue to not play well in the game. Giving away points late in the game and failing to retaliate has hurt them on more than a few occasions so far. Their ‘Big 3’ went silent late in the game as Anthony Davis scored 22 points to lead the Lakers. LeBron James added 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists while Westbrook contributed with just 9 points.
