Brittney and Cherelle both attended Baylor University. However, the now-married couple didn’t start their love story in college. After Griner’s ugly split with her ex-wife, the WNBA icon found Cherelle. The two started dating in 2018. In just one year, the 32-year-old popped the question. But for over 200 days now, Cherelle Griner has lived without her partner. But she continues to make a difference by being her voice in the USA. Speaking at the award show, she spoke about missing the voice of her wife.

Likewise, the time away from her wife makes her relive memories. During her speech at the Glamour’s Women of The Year Awards, Cherelle said, “Babe, I’m missing everything about you. Especially your friendship. I took for granted being able to talk with you. I catch myself picking up my phone, only to sit it back down because your voice is the only voice I want to hear. It’s giving, I’ll likely talk your ear off once you’re home”.
