‘Won in Every Category Except for the Finals’: Jayson Tatum’s Father Sends Out Strong Message to His Son After Celtics’ Defeat

Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics did all they could this postseason. But they couldn’t get it done in the Finals against the Golden State Warriors. The squad won two game 7s in a row, beating the reigning champs and making it to the Finals for the first time in their career. Tatum has been competing for the East title since his rookie year, only now did he manage to win.
As experienced as he is playing these tough playoff games, he never had experienced playing against a Warrior team in the playoffs. JT led his team to past tough teams, showed up in crucial games, and recorded insane stats at a young age.

After the game 6 loss against the Warriors, Tatum’s father had a strong message for him. He said that his son won in every category except the Finals. JT did win the East, coming in the Finals as the Eastern Conference Finals MVP. It was a proud father and son moment, as Jayson now knows what it takes to be a champion. On the other side, the Warriors’ fathers had their special moments with their sons.

The Celtics had an incredible journey this year. They played their first Finals in the last 12 years after failing in the Conference Finals 3 times in the last 5 years.

The Celtics have a bright future with this squad. Their new head coach, Ime Udoka has also done a fantastic job this year, trusting in his players’ skills. It will be interesting to see if the team can go for such a run the next season.
