Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker is having one of the best seasons of his career. The Suns are currently placed third in the Western Conference, winning 19 games out of 34 played so far. However, Booker’s groin injury forced him to sit out of the three games. Prior to that, the Suns had defeated the New Orleans Pelicans with Booker scoring a staggering 58 points. The three-time NBA All-Star was set to return for the game against the Denver Nuggets on December 25, 2022.

The Denver Nuggets are 20-11 and doing exceptionally well this season, placing them at the top of the Western Conference. On the other hand, Devin Booker is the Suns’ best player, averaging 28 points, 5.8 assists, and 4.8 rebounds per game. However, Booker’s injury proved to be a worrying factor for the team and Suns fans.

The Phoenix Suns faced the top Western Conference contenders Denver Nuggets at the Ball Arena on Sunday night. It was a relief for Suns fans when Booker entered the court. However, the relief was short-lived when the 26-year-old had to exit the court in the first quarter itself.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Booker was rendered unfit to play in the remainder of the game and was sidelined due to the groin injury. Booker played for no more than four minutes during which he managed to score just two points. This was the sixth game Booker had missed a game this season.

With Booker out, the Suns might have a hard time maintaining their position in the top five of the Western Conference. Booker faced a similar issue the previous season as well, as a hamstring injury forced Booker to miss quite a few games in the 2021-22 season.
