The NBA star, Tyrese Haliburton, is currently basking in the glory of getting a brand new deal on his first day as a free agent. And that’s getting the media and fans talking. Fans are now looking forward to seeing a lot more of Tyrese on the basketball court.

And what’s more good news is that the success has not gone to his head. The humble man recently spoke about a life-altering experience he went through as someone playing basketball since his youth.

In an interview with Pure Sweat Basketball, the host asked Tyrese about the time he played with other talented hoopers, and how his experience went.

Tyrese gets candid and says, “When I was in middle school, I was leveling out. I think a big thing for kids is not to get into programs that get you gear that makes you look cool. You got to find gear with people that care about you, not only as a person but as a player, and make you the best that you can be. I was fourteen when I got cut, and that was the worst ever in my life.”

Tyrese Haliburton’s story could be that of every NBA player

Even when NBA players are at the top of their game, the past reflects and often reveals their true selves. The struggles, their hunger for success, the emotions, everything cumulatively makes them who they are today.

Haliburton played for Iowa during his college. He, later on, got on the NBA draft and started playing for Sacramento Kings from 2020 to 2022. He currently plays for the Indiana Pacers.
