The NBA on TNT broadcast show ‘Inside the NBA’ is infamous for its various segments and its fun-filled environment in the studio. While the NBA Hall of Famers, Charles Barkley, and Shaquille O’Neal, have had a history of heated debates throughout the playoff seasons, in reality, they get along great with each other. Both Chuck and Shaq are infamous for their jesting on the sets of the show. The show is hosted by Chuck, Shaq, alongside Ernie Johnson and Kenny Smith.

Though Shaquille O’Neal is usually the one known to play pranks and pull others’ legs on and off the show, this time around, the other two hosts get a taste of the heat from Barkley exploding on them.

On The Steam Room podcast, with Ernie Johnson and Paul Bissonnette, Charles Barkley called out Shaq, Ernie, and Kenny for ruining a ‘sweet’ memory for him.

While in conversation, Paul Bissonnette asked who came up with the name for the podcast, and that led to quite an intriguing revelation. Bissonnette referred to Johnson to confirm whether it was because he caught Charles Barkley exercising in a steam room.

The statement had both hosts debating the details when Charles paused and asserted one of his “pet peeves [being] guys naked in the steam room.” He then moved on to share an old incident where he had a run-in with Bissonnette in the steam room.

Bissonnette took over the narration and described what he did when he entered and saw the outline of a man doing sit-ups in the steamer.

He said, “I saw when I came in and I sat as far away as possible. And then I heard the counting and I was like, ‘oh my God this guy’s like really giving it and like taking up the whole top shelf.’ And then all of a sudden, when he was done, he came down he’s like, ‘Is that Biz [Paul Bissonette]? And I’m like ‘yeah, oh Jesus Charles, get that ball back out of my face man!”

While Johnson was cracking up laughing, Bissonnette went on to tell the tale that haunted him, “I didn’t want to look because it was like his cornhole was just staring right at me while he’s trying to get these sit-ups.”

Ernie Johnson expressed how the incident was so much better than the real story behind the name of the podcast.

Chuck and his steam room shenanigans

Johnson revealed the real reason behind the podcast name and it turned out to be another story of Charles Barkley getting caught in the steam room.

This time, however, he was not alone inside doing sit-ups, rather there was a guy inside “wearing one of those Lokai bracelets”. When Barkley told the guy he liked his bracelet, and “next thing you know the guy is giving Chuck his bracelet”.

Chuck finally broke his silence and said, “They [Shaq, Ernie, and Kenny] make something so kind and so sweet into something so evil. That’s the way Ernie Kenny and Shaq are. It was a sweet moment from a guy hooking me up with a bracelet and y’all turned into something filthy.”

The two hosts got into a debate about Chuck’s habit of doing sit-ups in the steam room and Ernie mentioned that it was not the right place for it since people went in there to unwind and not exercise.
