Apart from being one of the greatest NBA players ever, Charles Barkley is also an avid golfer. Chuck famously indulged in a lot of golf while he was with the Philadelphia 76ers. It all went downhill for the 1993 NBA MVP when he was traded to the Phoenix Suns. Barkley had a horrible swing which naturally deteriorated his overall game. During an appearance on The Spittin’ Chiclets, the NBA Hall of Famer made an honest confession.
He talked about how the move to the Phoenix Suns affected his golf, confessing to being ‘terrified’ of the game at one point in time. It seems all his fears will be gone now as Chuck has greatly improved his swing.

Charles Barkley shows off massive improvement in golf
Golf is no stranger to the NBA superstars. Whether it is Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, or Stephen Curry, they enjoy a round of golf from time to time. In fact, it is one of Jordan’s favorite hobbies and he used to play golf with Chuck before their relationship got sour.
Although Charles Barkley loves the game of golf, he once lost his touch and was terrified to play the game. “It’s no fun for me to play, I’m terrified over the golf ball”, confessed Chuck on The Spittin’ Chiclets podcast. He further revealed the real reason why his game was so messed up at one point in time. He was taking lessons from multiple people at once!
Barkley said, “I was a great player, but then I got traded to Phoenix. I had the bug, but I wanted to get better.” He then mentioned that he “started taking lessons from every Tom, Dick, and Harry in the world.”
“My brain just locked up, for 20-something years and I was standing over the ball, and I was really, I’m not joking, like I had six-seven guys talking to me”, continued the NBA Hall of Famer.
