Nanea McGuigan works for the Golden State Warriors as a Director of Basketball Administration & Player Programs. Recently, she received an unexpected title ring from the four-time NBA champion. Stephen Curry’s Warriors had a huge surprise for a long-time employee during their opening night ring ceremony, which was a total surprise for fans. This is how it all unfolded when Warriors executive Kirk Lacob asked McGuigan to stand near the floor during the ring ceremony.
This was so she could hold the championship ring of general manager Bob Myers. She wasn’t aware of what was happening at first, but when Curry announced her name among the capacity Chase Center crowd, she was shocked.

In just a few seconds, Lacob told her to step onto the court where Curry was. Her expression explained a lot, as she was already showing signs of nervousness and confusion. Although she had spent the past two decades for the team maintaining everything off the screen, this time it was different.
Despite knowing how to handle all the rush off-screen, she didn’t know what to do when she was called on-screen and all the attention was on her. The moment that McGuigan received her championship ring from majority owner Joe Lacob was significant for her.
She has played a significant role in making everything run smoothly off the court while the Warriors make a great hit on the court.
Stephen Curry explains, Nanea McGuigan played a crucial role in this organization
When an international player signs in, it is her responsibility to take care of every document that is needed. In addition, she also takes care of the essential things that the team needs whenever they travel.
We can see an example of this when the Warriors visited Japan. Aside from managing the Warriors team department, she also provides them with chefs and nutritionists who are experts in this field. If a player is moving to a new city, she makes sure a great realtor is assigned to them.
