Charles Barkley doesn’t mince his words while putting his point forward. Especially when he’s criticizing someone, Sir Charles says it as he sees it. Over the years he’s been critical of several athletes. Apart from the Kevin Durant incident, most of these situations don’t go out of his hands. He’s offensive yet thoughtful at the same time. He ensures he’s not really offending a lot of people by keeping his criticism constructive.

Barkley in an old interview reveals some grave details about Green as an athlete. The former says that he likes Draymond as an athlete. Yet, Chuck believes that the Golden State Warriors star often mistakes his identity among the superstars he is surrounded by.

Three years ago, the Round Mound of Rebound was on the Sub Par podcast where he talked about the Warriors’ star. Barkley said that although every athlete in the league is good, “some guys aren’t as good as the others.” He said that if there’s a lot of attention coming Green’s way, he’d start thinking that it is all for him.

Sir Charles thinks when people direct their attention toward elite athletes, they surround them with popularity and fortune. This might overwhelm them. Further trying to humble Draymond, he says, “You’re next to Harry Styles.”

With such a statement he’s trying to imply that Green is just a guy in a popular boy band. He’s not the frontman of the band. He also tries to bring to everyone’s attention that the attention the players get is probably better aimed toward Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant.

Charles Barkley breaks down his criticism over the lack of NBA championships

Although a bona fide legend of the game, Barkley could never win a championship in his career. This is something that is often thrown in his face by Shaquille O’Neal and even the current athletes he criticizes. However, the 60 years believes that having no rings is only a problem when the conversation is about him. He said that it is “part of being a star” because there are several other legends of the game, who finished their careers without a championship.
