After dropping the first two games, the Golden State Warriors bounced back by winning two back-to-back games to even out the series. Going back to Sacramento for Game 5, things may have gotten a bit easier for Golden State after a major update of the star point guard of the Sacramento Kings. However, the saddening news has managed to send the NBA community into a state of meltdown.

Fans and analysts were quick to count out the Golden State Warriors after the Sacramento Kings took a commanding 2-0 lead in the series. But now, it may be smooth sailing for Golden State from here on out.

Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors did everything they could’ve possibly done to take an early advantage in the series. But Sacramento Kings’ star point guard De’Aaron Fox had other plans.

Fox had been playing some of the best basketball of his career so far, averaging 31.5 PPG for the playoffs. Unfortunately, the Kentucky college product may not be available for Game 5 between the Kings and the Warriors.

Now, according to a report by Sams Charania, “Sacramento Kings star De’Aaron Fox has suffered a fractured index finger in his left shooting hand, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Fox is expected to be listed doubtful to play in Game 5 vs. Warriors.”

Though the Kings have a couple of options as a backup for the point guard position, none of them could provide the same offensive output as Fox. Matthew Dellavedova is known to be a great on-ball defender but who will take up the offensive load for the team?

Davion Mitchell, the other player for the point guard position is the best option the Kings have on offense. Let’s see if Mitchell can manage to fill the hole that Fox left.

The saddening news surrounding De’Aaron Fox managed to upset almost the entirety of the NBA fanbase. And it may be safe to say that even Golden State fans were not happy with Fox’s update.

Now let’s see if the Kings can manage to hold off the Warriors without their leading scorer.
