Before the college final, Johnson rocked with his Georgia Bulldogs to win yet again. As an alumnus from Georgia, his support was unsurprising. However, TCU had the underdog story. In addition, they are a team from Los Angeles, the town the Big Diesel helped make. Likewise, he stood against his co-host and made a bet. Shaq was willing to eat frog legs if TCU lost on the night.

He said, “My wife has told me how honored and how pleased she is with the UGA nation, dog nation, and she is like ‘You know Ernie Johnson is bragging about you got Shaq eating frog legs and getting Charleston up’. So I’m honored that you’re proud of the alma mater. I told someone the other day, the proudest moment I have is when Georgia fans text me how proud they are. That’s my job is to make Georgia fans proud.”
