“You Pay to Watch Me”: $207 Million Superstar Trae Young Goes Ruthless in a Social Media Beef After Quin Snyder News

There has been some drama ensuing in Atlanta as the Hawks get rid of their head coach Nate McMillan. And a lot of fans and analysts have been speculating that Hawks star Trae Young is the reason why the Hawks got rid of their former head coach. So, when a talk show host tried to hold Young accountable for that, the two-time All-Star lashed out on social media, giving out ruthless responses.

One of the reasons Nate McMillan was fired was due to the poor start to the season. Despite trading for All-Star Dejounte Murray from the San Antonio Spurs, the Hawks are still in the eighth position in the Eastern Conference with a 31-30 record.

Trae Young absolutely lashed out

Nate McMillan was a big reason why the Hawks managed to make it to the Eastern Conference finals a couple of years ago. The Hawks defeated the New York Knicks, and the Philadelphia 76ers before finally falling to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Although, the poor start to the season is not the sole reason why McMillan was fired. The friction between him and Hawks star Trae Young was also a big reason why the franchise got rid of its head coach.

Recently, Young went to his Twitter to commemorate the buzzer-beater win over the Brooklyn Nets. Young tweeted, “We bound to fall against the odds, we get up & go crazy! GREATNESS WeMove.”

To that, co-host of Dukes and Bell, Mike Bell tweeted, “OK! Just more like last two.” Taking a dig at Young for getting the last two head coaches fired. But Young was not in the mood for any criticism as he immediately lashed out.

Trae Young and Mike Bell went on to go at each other as the conversation turned more hostile. And Young hit Bell with the “You PAY to watch me. There’s a difference in an OWNER.”

Hawks move into a new direction

While it may be true that the firing of Nate McMillan may be due to a poor season record. However, no one can deny that the building friction between Young and McMillan may have also been the reason.

Last year, under McMillan’s reign, the Hawks faced an embarrassing first-round exit at the hands of the Miami Heat. So, it seems like the front office is going in a different direction as the team announced they will be hiring veteran Quin Snyder as the team’s head coach.

The Hawks front office and Snyder signed a five-year deal for the head coaching position. So, let’s see if the Hawks get better under a new coaching structure.
