The NBA has moved on to its next stage of the season since the All-Star break is finally over. The teams are focusing on the possibility of their postseason berth or planning their postseason accordingly. It is a major reason for the teams to make important reinforcements before the trade deadline. Naturally, many teams and players have a lot to prove this season as mentioned by a seasoned analyst on Fox Sports NBA show, First Things First. Nick Wright mentioned quite a few NBA Superstars who have a lot to prove this season, but when James Harden’s name came up, Chris Broussard wasn’t of the same opinion.

Fierce debate pops up as Nick Wright mentions what awaits James Harden if he wins the NBA title

In the recent episode of First Things First, Nick Wright was tasked with the responsibility of the top 10 ‘Most to Prove’ players after the All-Star break.

Wright took the opportunity by the neck as he dissected his top 10 MTP list with reasons for each one of them. In the second place, Wright mentioned James Harden and Joel Embiid with the 76ers. Additionally, Wright mentioned how Harden would be a top 20 NBA player if he wins the NBA title. At that point, Broussard wasn’t really pleased with his choice and decided to call him out for it.

You made a good case, especially for Embiid, Harden top 20. We could debate that. But Philly ain’t got the chance,” said Broussard. He further added, ” .. How’s Harden been in the playoffs? You really trusting that?

Broussard decided to not mince his words while talking about The Beard and his playoff records.

Although individually Harden has not been statistically abysmal, some of his performances have warranted questions from analysts such as Broussard himself.

James Harden’s playoff performances and how that affects the 76ers’ future

James Harden has averaged 22.9 PPG since his first playoff appearance in 2009. However, the Beard has a mediocre record of 78-71 in the playoffs. Additionally, some of his playoff performances have been truly memorable, and not for good reasons.

The Beard famously missed 48 three-pointers in game five of the 2018 Eastern Conference finals as the Golden State Warriors won the series 4-3 against the Houston Rockets. However, this shouldn’t affect Philly’s postseason chances as Harden has an MVP contender in the form of Joel Embiid by his side.
