Philadelphia 76ers star James Harden has been one of the best players in this year’s playoffs. Not only is the 2018 MVP winning hearts with his performances on the court, but his latest gesture for a fan is also doing the rounds of the internet. John Hao, a student at Michigan State University recently survived a major shooting incident that made headlines across the country. Following the gruesome tragedy, Harden made a promise to Hao and he made sure to keep it.

The 76ers star hosted the young student for game 4 against the Boston Celtics. Following the win, Harden made a special request to Hao, which has won over the internet.

John Hao recently experienced the thrill of watching an NBA game courtside. When the Boston Celtics took on the Philadelphia 76ers in game 4, Hao watched James Harden drop a masterpiece from up close.

In fact, Harden had arranged for Hao’s attendance in the game which drew praises from NBA legends like Magic Johnson and others.  Ever since Hao injured himself after the shooting, Harden has built a special relationship with the Chinese International Student. The two have held multiple Facetime sessions in which they have grown closer.

Interestingly, it seems Hao is Harden’s lucky charm. The 10 times NBA All-Star requested Hao to be present in the all-important game 6 after winning game 4.

Harden said, “Game 6, he’s gotta come back. I don’t know what you got going or what your schedule, in game 6, you gotta be back here, coz you the good luck charm. For real, I just kept thinking about it.”

Hao might just be Harden’s lucky charm. As he watched the 2018 MVP play against the Celtics, Harden scored 42 points, 8 rebounds, and nine assists. Additionally, he also hit the game-winning three-pointer in Over Time. Hao and his father sported Harden’s 76ers jersey as they cheered on for The Beard from the sidelines.
