Draymond Green has been one of the most influential players for Golden State Warriors. He’s helped the team win four NBA championships in the past nine years and will hope to do so again in the ongoing post-season. Apart from his fluent defensive play, he’s also known for getting in the opponent’s head with his brutal trash talk. But, quite recently, a former NBA player gave a reality check to the power forward for the comments he made about Shaquille O’Neal a few years back.

NBA veteran gives Draymond a reality check

In 2020, when Draymond joined the ‘All the Smoke’ podcast he claimed, “I and Steph Curry would have f?ing destroyed Shaq in the pick and roll.” This statement did not go down well with Shaquille O’Neal who responded by saying “Mr. Draymond, like you said, I would?ve torn your a** up on that block.” Shaq, in his prime, annihilated anyone that was going up against him.

The claim made by Draymond Green came as a surprise to many including Richard Jefferson. Richard, in a podcast with JJ Reddick, said “Dray I love your defense the way he has played defense has changed the game…. But bro you were not f**king with Shaq bro.”?

Green’s an absolute beast when it comes to defense but again, stopping the greatest center of all time is not a task that is meant for everyone. Many would agree with Richard Jefferson that there is not much Draymond can do to stop the seven-foot giant from putting the ball in the basket. No one in Shaq’s prime stopped him from scoring without getting a foul call.

Draymond Green on Andrew Wiggin’s return

Golden State Warriors lost a close Game 1 to the Sacramento Kings in the first round of the NBA playoffs. One of the highlights of the loss was Andrew Wiggin’s return to the team as he was out injured for several games. Draymond Green opened up about his teammate’s less-than-impressive performance on his podcast.

He said, “So great to have Wigs back, and as I said, he?ll continue to get better defensively as well. Although he was all over the court on that end ? creating some loose balls [though] ? and came up with some rebounds. I like it.” If the dub nation wants to get past the Sacramento Kings, they would want Andre Wiggin to be back at his best.
