Dennis Rodman was never an easy man to figure out. One moment, he was getting into trouble for public drunkenness and the next he was smashing his opponents on the court. The early 2000s was especially rough for the NBA legend. In fact, he was given an ultimatum by his then-wife and one of his closest friends. This was reported by Sports Illustrated in November 2003.
It was in the same year that Dennis Rodman got into an accident. The ‘Rebound King’ was at a Las Vegas gentlemen’s club when the manager persuaded him to take his custom-made Carlini motorcycle for a spin. It was nine in the morning and Rodman was already reportedly drunk from spending the past couple of hours drinking. After a little more persuasion, Rodman eventually obliged and decided to ride the motorcycle. However, ‘The Worm’ hardly got out of the parking lot as he hit a pole while attempting to pop a wheelie. Rodman sustained several injuries in the process.

Earlier, Rodman also had to spend some time in jail for public intoxication. However, there were no charges filed against him. Rodman got out of the accident with about 20 stitches on his right shin and bruises. However, this did not stop his close ones from worrying about the five-time NBA champion.
Dennis Rodman is given two choices from Michelle Moyer and Darren Prince
After the motorcycle crash incident, several of Dennis Rodman’s friends expressed their worries. Former NFL player and sports marketer Floyd Raglin said that Rodman was “way out of control”. Raglin felt that while everyone liked having fun, Rodman was in danger of harming himself in the process. Additionally, Rodman’s agent, Darren Prince, and his then-wife, Michelle Moyer gave him an ultimatum. Both told Rodman that they would leave if he didn’t seek help for his drinking issues. Evidently, Rodman began sessions with an alcohol counselor and started taking Antabuse, which is a drug that caused a violent illness if alcohol was consumed.

“This is a huge chapter in Dennis Rodman’s life. I told him, ‘You’re an alcoholic, and you need to take care of it.’ In the past, he’d always said, ‘Yes, dude,’ and brushed it off. This time he said, ‘I know I do,'” said Prince.
