This Sunday two Western Conference giants will clash at 3:30 PM ET. Both the LA Clippers and Dallas Mavericks are top contenders to lift the NBA title this year, but who will emerge victorious in their Sunday afternoon clash?
A Luka Doncic led Mavericks pushed the Clippers to six games in the first round of the 2020 playoffs. Honestly, it was an unfair matchup for the Mavs as they were playing without Kristaps Porzingis for the majority of the series.
However, this season hasn’t been quite fruitful for the Mavericks yet. They have lost both their two games so far and will be anxious to notch up their first win. On the other hand, the Clippers are enjoying a perfect start to the season as they are 2-0 so far.

The Clips will be hoping to bring up their third successive win against the Mavs and let’s take a look at the expected lineups and injury updates for both sides.
LA Clippers injury updates and expected lineup
The Clippers got revenge on the Denver Nuggets in their previous game, but it came at a heavy cost. They lost their superstar Kawhi Leonard for at least the coming few weeks due to a nasty mouth injury.

Due to the injury, Kawhi Leonard will most likely not play in their matchup against the Mavericks. So the expected lineup for them is Patrick Beverley (G), Paul George (G), Maurice Harkless (F), Serge Ibaka (F), and Ivica Zubac (C).

Dallas Mavericks injury updates and expected lineup
Once again, the Mavericks will enter the floor in hopes of winning their first game of the season. But they will have to do it without Kristaps Porzingis, who is still recovering from the knee injury he sustained in the playoffs.

Aside from Porzingis, there is no new injury update in the Mavericks’ roster. So their lineup should feature Josh Richardson (G), Luka Doncic (G), Dorian Finney-Smith (F), Tim Hardaway Jr. (F), and Dwight Powell (C).

Game prediction
This will be a cut-throat fixture, as both teams have balanced lineups. However, the Clippers have the momentum from winning two straight games so they might have a slight edge. But it could still go either way and one can hope for a cracking game when these two teams face off.
