After Turning Heads With Glam Show, NFL Star Russell Wilson Steals Nikola Jokic and Co’s Playoffs Thunder

The Denver Nuggets hosted the Phoenix Suns for Game 5 of the series at the Ball Arena. After winning the first two games, the Nuggets lost two straight in Phoenix, making this game extremely important. Given how the series has turned out, it has drawn some major celebrities courtside. That was the case again as Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets blew out the Suns in front of Denver Broncos star Russell Wilson and head coach, Sean Payton.

Recently, Russell Wilson managed to turn some heads at a fellow NFL player’s fundraising gala. And now, it seems like he’s ready to steal some of the spotlight off Jokic during the series.

Days ago, Russell Wilson was spotted making an appearance for Latavius Murray’s fundraising gala. He was accompanied by his fellow teammate, Garett Bolles. The event, sponsored by Victory Sports Medicine, successfully raised over $100,000 to give back to Murray’s community.

For the game between the Nuggets and the Suns, Wilson was seen sitting courtside with his head coach from the Denver Broncos, Sean Payton. But they weren’t the only ones from the Broncos’ franchise in attendance. One other player who was sitting right next to Wilson was Broncos’ wide receiver, Tim Patrick. It surely was a sight to see NFL stars showing up in support of their city’s teams.

Apart from the player-coach duo from the NFL, stars from the NHL were also in attendance. Both Cale Makar and Devon Toews of the Colorado Avalanche were spotted in the arena for the Nuggets-Suns game. Even the head coach of the Kentucky Wildcats, John Calipari, was present in the arena.

It was a good change of pace to see some celebrities sitting courtside other than Lakers or Knicks games. And the Nuggets fans were in for a treat as Denver dismantled Phoenix to move one step closer to the Conference Finals.

Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets take Game 5

The Denver Nuggets made the most of the support from fellow athletes from the NFL by getting the win. The Nuggets defeated the Suns 118-102. And the big story of the night was Nikola Jokic’s triple-double.

Jokic finished the game with 29 points, 13 rebounds, and 12 assists. He got a huge boost off the bench from Bruce Brown Jr. who had 25 points for the game. The Suns, on the other hand, did not perform up to the level, leading to their loss.

Apart from Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, only DeAndre Ayton finished the night scoring in double-digits. No other Suns player even managed to touch double-digit points, causing the Nuggets to run away with the game.

So, it may be safe to say that despite having Russell Wilson and other celebrities in attendance, Nikola Jokic’s playoff thunder was safe with the masterful performance he put up.
