Among others, Memphis Grizzlies star guard Ja Morant has been the talk of the NBA this year. Notching some quality victories for his previously beleaguered setup, Morant has staked his claim for the exclusive MVP title. However, the competition is extremely stiff. But according to ESPN host and analyst Max Kellerman, Ja is similar to the successful NFL star Joe Burrow, and his time is now.

Before the 2021-22 season commenced, only a handful of individuals would’ve predicted the version of the Grizzlies that we have seen. And a key factor for their success has been 22-year-old Ja Morant. Averaging over 26 points, he has been one of the finds of the season.

Ja Morant compared to NFL quarter-back Joe Burrow in MVP talks
Although it is difficult to compare the NBA and NFL, several players are often likened to their compatriots. In one such instance, ESPN’s Max Kellerman made a startling comparison of Morant, to Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.
The 25-year-old is a revelation in the premier football league, and was awarded the Comeback Player of the Year in 2021. And while ranking Memphis’ point guard as 5th in his MVP list, Kellerman drew a peculiar comparison.
