What an evening it was for the Vegas Golden Knights! In just their sixth season in the NFL, the Knights have already won the Stanley Cup. However, days before the Finals, a 26-year-old Vegas star had an awkward moment with NBA legend Charles Barkley that went viral. Chuck has a lot of love for ice hockey players, but his meeting with a Knights veteran did not go as he expected it to go. 

Moments after the championship win, the NHL star decided to clear the air with the 60-year-old. Charles Barkley initially believed the Vegas Center “had no idea” about him. However, that was not the case!

With 4 shots on goal and 3 points, Jack Eichel made sure he did not let the Florida Panthers force a Game 6. In just his second season with the Knights, the 26-year-old has already created history by leading his team to a Stanley Cup less than two years removed from neck surgery that no NHL player had previously come back from. However, that was not the only highlight today.

A few days back, Barkley shared some details of his meeting with Jack Eichel. The NBA legend revealed that he and Eichel were at the same hotel and that he got an opportunity to meet him. Barkley told Eichel, “It’s an honor, you are a great player.” However, looking at the Vegas star’s facial expressions, the 60-year-old assumed he had “no idea” about him. It clearly did not go how Barkley planned, however, Eichel had a different narrative.

The 26-year-old shared, “I think that was a little unfortunate, and he was taken out of context. I was in a conversation with somebody, and he came by and introduced himself… Of course, I know who Charles Barkley is. I don’t think there is anyone on the planet who doesn’t.” 

Eichel further went on to praise the 11x NBA All-Star.

Eichel shared that he was a huge fan of Barkley and loved his personality. He also appreciated the way Barkley and the Inside the NBA crew continued to entertain the audience. Moreover, Eichel loved the fact that Barkley follows hockey.

Barkley had even joined the NHL on TNT crew a few days back for Game 4. Now that Eichel has clarified, Barkley might go to sleep with a smile on his face. The Phoenix Suns legend never fails to entertain the fans.
