LeBron James, the NBA superstar is a billionaire, and most of it can be contributed to his smart business decisions. Back in 2011, the former MVP bought a minority stake in the renowned English soccer club, Liverpool FC. His minority stake proved to be a bullseye as his $6.5 million investment in 2011 has increased almost eight times its value. Now, the possible sale of the soccer club can make James a bigger fortune.

Mukesh Ambani, the eighth richest man in the world could be the new owner of Liverpool FC, according to reports. Considering the last valuation of the soccer club, the four-time champion’s investment can become more fruitful than imagined.

LeBron James could become richer

The off-court business decisions of LeBron James are one to keep an eye out for. He and his business partner Maverick Carter decided to be a part of this investment as they bought 2% of Liverpool FC.

In March 2021, James along with a few others exchanged that stake to become part owners of Fenway Sporting Group. This deal made him a part owner of many sporting teams and groups. The valuation of Liverpool FC in 2019/20 said it was worth $4.1 Billion.?

Fast forward a couple of years, the group is looking to sell the soccer club reportedly. And they won?t be expecting anything less. According to Forbes, the soccer club is valued at $4.45 Billion in 2022. However, the price tag should be close to $5 Billion. The offer is still to be looked at by Mukesh Ambani, who’s worth $90 Billion.

FSG would be having their own valuation of the club as well. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar could be $100 million richer if the deal goes through. Making it a huge profit on a $6.5 Million investment.

James has tons of important business deals that he made over the past that made him what he is. He is the first active basketball player to become a Billionaire.

James signed a $97.1 million contract extension with the Lakers recently. This made his career earnings touch an unprecedented $532 million. He has made great strides in business alongside his stellar career in the NBA.
