There are two players in modern NBA history known for gambling: Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley. Chuck has reportedly put up a huge sum of money for blackjack and other games. He admitted to this in 2006 and by that period, the former NBA man already lost over $10 million from sports betting. Barkley also confessed of losing $2.5 million in just six hours.

Barkley has no interest in taking a break from this habit. Recently, he pestered Buffalo Bills Quarterback Josh Allen on being ‘cheap’ at the gambling table a few years back on his podcast.

Last time I saw Josh, he was cheap,” said the Chuckster, “I met your mom and dad in Lake Tahoe. We were gambling a bit. You were 25 dollars a hand, are you still playing 25 a hand when you play blackjack”.  Josh confirmed that he still plays with 25 a hand and that Chuck was playing with a much higher amount. “ I am still playing with a rookie contract two years into the league. I’m still figuring things out”.

Once in 2008, Chuck was in The Wynn casino and had 400,000 worth of credit to play with. The casino had given him $100,000 on four different occasions and failed to pay back the money in time. A civil complaint was filed and Chuck was forced to pay the 400,000 along with 40,000 more for the attorney and court costs. Chuck took a break from gambling for two years.
