Back in 2020, during the Grammy Awards, Conor McGregor shared his feelings on the loss of the basketball legend, Kobe Bryant and his daughter. The fighter was sighted on the red carpet when a reporter approached him and congratulated him on his victory over Donald Cerrone. However, the revelation of sadness came when McGregor was asked about how he was feeling. The former double champion said, “I feel good. I’m very happy to be here. You know, happy and sad. It’s a very sad day. We lost Kobe Bryant and his daughter. Very sad, you know. So, I’m happy to be here but sad at the same time.”

Furthermore, the reporter asked the ‘Notorious’ if he had any memory of the NBA legend. McGregor told that although he never met the Lakers guard, he really felt the sadness. He said, “You know, I never met Kobe, but his power has transcended. I don’t know basketball too much, but I feel this and I feel sad with this. He’s a family man, a humanitarian. Passionate about his sport. It’s Sunday morning, right. Sunday morning 10:00 am. He’s taking his daughter and they’re flying to the Mamba Training Academy to partake in the love of basketball. And I mean, it’s just very sad news. I don’t know what to say about it, to be honest, you know. It’s just very sad.”
