LeBron James continues to perform at the highest level. LeBron once again scores in the high 30s to help Lakers maintain their position in the play-in. However, the Lakers have once again failed as a team. LeBron hit 39 points with 9 rebounds and 5 assists.
LeBron’s efforts were in vain. The New Orleans Pelicans overcame a 23 point deficit towards the end of the game to emerge victorious. They eventually won the game by 8 points, 116-108. Brandon Ingram grabbed the most points for the Pelicans, 26 while 4 others also scored in double digits.

This was not the first time that the Lakers had given away a commanding lead. They have been an inconsistent side all season. Either be it going down by 20 or so points in the first quarter itself or being unable to maintain a convincing lead. The Lakers have seen both kinds of lows multiple times this season. Other than the loss in a crucial game, LeBron’s injury is another worrisome take from the Pelicans game. However, the fans have different views about that one.

However, the fans weren’t having any of it. Some fans obviously were in support of LeBron’s case but some just called it an ‘excuse’.

However, many fans look at it, and agree that it is difficult for LeBron. Especially when, even after scoring 39 points, the Lakers can not fashion a victory.

There are a lot of things wrong for the Lakers as of right now. They have slipped to the 10th seed one game behind Pelicans and just one game ahead of San Antonio Spurs.
