“You Wanna Keep Your Last Name?”: Dennis Rodman Once Confessed He Nearly Married Millionaire Singer Madonna

Dennis Rodman has made headlines not only through his basketball career but also in his personal life. He is one of the strongest players we have ever seen on the NBA court. There are some instances that are clearly portrayed in the documentary series ‘The Last Dance’.

His love was always in the news back then for several reasons; in particular, his relationship with Madonna which began in 1994. We can see some examples of their relationship and that time period of when it began and how it evolved to 30 episodes.

Reports state that they dated for only two months, but after that, there were many speculations and controversies. Since Rodman has been very open about what happened between the two of them, he also shared his thoughts in his book ‘Bad As I Wanna Be’.

Aside from all that speculation, there was a time when the NBA player considered getting married. Rodman once admitted he almost married millionaire singer Madonna in an interview back in 1996.

Furthermore, he revealed whether his last name would be taken by her. In the interview, he answered if he and the singer are planning to marry when the interviewer asked him about their relationship. “You wanna keep your last name? Great, keep your last name.”

It was a perfect match for Dennis Rodman to be in a relationship with Madonna

In the course of their relationship, many controversies arose, and it didn’t end well. In his memoir, the NBA player discusses his feelings and what he thought about dating the pop star.

According to him, they were a “perfect match” but he said, “I still think of myself as this guy who had to claw his way up from a job as a janitor to get anything in life. So to be making a decision on how serious to get with Madonna was more than I could handle.”
