The Smashing Pumpkins lead singer Billy Corgan was on an episode of Joe Rogan’s ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast in 2017. In the podcast, Billy revealed what seemed like a firsthand experience of the Dennis Rodman story. The incident took place after one of the Chicago Bulls’ games against legendary power forward Karl Malone and the Utah Jazz in the 1996-97 NBA Finals.
Apparently, Corgan partied with the NBA star a lot. However, it seems he couldn’t keep up with Rodman’s need for partying. The story shared by Billy revealed that he boarded a billionaire’s private jet to Las Vegas along with Rodman. Apparently, they were in Vegas for 8 hours only.

Corgan recollected that he and Rodman stayed out all night. They gambled and got drunk. Billy admitted that the night “was a total mess”. Once they had their fun, they flew back on the private jet to Salt Lake City the next morning so Rodman could attend some shoot.
However, the real twist came once the shoot got over. Apparently, Rodman insisted that the two of them return to Las Vegas. Billy recalled,
” It is 9 a.m., I’m sitting in the stands, I haven’t slept at all. They do the shoot around and Dennis walks up and says, ‘Let’s go back,’” Corgan revealed.
However, Billy wasn’t up for it. He went on the say that Rodman flew commercial without him, as the billionare’s plane was no longer available.
Billy Corgan gets in trouble
Apparently, instead of going to Las Vegas with Rodman, Billy went to a miniature golf course in Park City, Utah, where the Chicago Bulls were staying. Unfortunately, the singer crossed paths with the legendary Bulls’ head coach Phil Jackson.
Talking bout the encounter, Billy revealed that Jackson gave him a death stare, as if blaming him for Rodman’s absence. Corgan revealed, “I’m thinking, ‘you don’t understand, I’m the one who told him not to go.‘”
Corgan highlighted that even though Jackson said nothing to prove that Billy had upset him, his look said it all. He told host Joe Rogan that Phil Jackson looks very Zen and calm on a screen, but is actually very intimidating in person.
