In the 117-110 win, each of the Portland’s starters got into double figures on scoring. Damian Lillard remained their highest scorer with 25 points scoring 8 out of 20 attempts from the floor and converting eight free throws. He also contributed with seven assists and seven rebounds on the night.
The Trail Blazers’ centre Hassan Whiteside also had a great game on both ends of the court. He registered a double- double with 18 rebounds to go with 18 points.
Their Friday’s opponents are the best scorers in the league. Mavericks average a league-high 115.7 per game- two points better than the second-best offense in the league.
The Mavericks will be coming into the game having won their last three games. They managed to overhaul a deficit in the fourth quarter to register a comeback win against Sacranento Kings. The game saw Luka Doncic break a few records as he finished with 25 points, 15 rebounds, and 17 assists.
At 20, Doncic became the youngest player in NBA history to score a 15+ rebound and 15+ assist triple-double and the youngest ever to record a 17+ assist triple-double. As Mavericks host Portland, Doncic will once again be at the centre of their game.
