It was a mix of ingredients that made up the Lakers loss against the Miami Heat in Game 5. Jimmy Butler’s 35 point triple-double and Danny Green’s miss from the three-point line are two of the main contributors to this result.
However, another aspect might have also added to the disappointing result- Anthony Davis’ injury that temporarily left every Lakers’ fan mortified.
It was in the first half of the game that we saw Davis go down on the floor while clutching his ankle. At that crucial time, the Lakers couldn’t afford to play with a man down, and certainly not someone as integral as Anthony Davis. This is exactly why Davis came back to the court and played 42 minutes.

After the game, Davis came forth to discuss his injury and his playing status for Game 6; however, his comment towards a particular Heat player wasn’t taken very well.
Anthony Davis’ aggressive gameplay
While playing Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals against the Denver Nuggets, Davis suffered a similar injury. And now, in another scuffle with Andre Iguodala, it appeared as though he had met with the same fate.
Davis blamed Iguodala for “re-aggravating” his injury, which is naturally a big claim to make against a fellow NBA player.

However, a twitter user (see below) pointed to a similar aggressive gameplay by Davis, but this time against Heat’s Jae Crowder, which had gone unnoticed int he match. We can’t be sure if it was intentional, but it looked like one hard smack.
Game 5 of the series was a spectacularly energetic game for both entities. The Lakers donning the Mamba jersey wanted to seal it off and keep Kobe Bryant’s name high, whereas Miami wanted the series to go deep. A spectacle for us fans indeed.

Between this and Vogel + LeBron complaining loudly about very obvious fouls — pathetic behavior! Couldn’t be my team

How this incident went unnoticed is a thought worth questioning. Well, what’s done is done and both teams have more important agenda’s to tend to. The Heat’s claim to the throne still hangs in the balance, and the Lakers will certainly come into Game 6 with a thirst for blood.
