The Last Dance proved to be a last blow to Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen’s bond. And its impact is in discussion even today. A popular view is that Scottie Pippen did not like the way Mike overshadowed him in the docuseries. And this led to his ‘No Bull Tour’, which many perceived as a resistance to the docuseries and Mike. Appearing on an episode of the PBD podcast, ex-NBA star Stephen A. Jackson has expressed his opinion on Pippen’s harsh retaliation to the series and some comments on Michael Jordan’s legacy.

“You were phenomenal; you were a great, you’re a Hall of Famer, you’re an Olympic gold medalist, you’re a member of the original dream team. All of that’s true. You know good and damn well you were no Michael Jordan. Stop it,” Jackson stated on the podcast. The discussion started with Patrick Bet-David recollecting the events of the ‘No Bull Tour’.

It is worth mentioning that most of the NBA community has often associated the title of the GOAT Jordan. Jackson’s explanation for all of this was that Scottie wants himself to be seen in a different light. However, the ESPN employee feels Pippen can already focus on the positives if he wants to. He spotlighted Pippen’s 6x NBA championship, the fact that he is one of the elite defensive players to play the game.

“And a person, as Michael Jordan himself, who I know well, has said on countless occasions, is the greatest team. I would have never won a championship without Scottie Pippen. He’s the greatest teammate I’ve ever had, and I owe my six titles to him,” Jackson stated.

Stephen Jackson further revealed that the turns of events ever since the ‘No Bull Tour’ have made Mike feel betrayed. He recollected how Scottie’s actual feelings towards MJ, as revealed in his book, affected the 61-year-old. “All of these years later, when Scottie Pippen had alluded to his father passing away, his father being murdered, and how he didn’t give his condolences on purpose, Michael Jordan’s words were, ‘I hope it’s worth it… I hope it’s worth it for him. I have nothing,'” Jackson recollected speaking to Michael Jordan over the phone.
