Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley are loved by the fans. The Inside The NBA co-hosts are some of the funniest sports personalities and entertainers out there. While many great minds of basketball can give a much more in-depth and precise analysis of the sport, both Shaq and Barkley often outshine other analysts because of their hilarious banter and chemistry with each other.

While we often see WNBA stars like Candace Parker giving her insights on NBA games along with Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley without receiving any criticism from fans, the former women’s soccer star, Carli Lloyd is hoping to receive the same acknowledgment as these NBA legends, as she has now stepped into the world of commentary.

“I listen to these guys, commentators, Shaq, Barkley… They are hilarious. They’ve experienced it. They get it. They’ve seen things. They offer their opinion. I get so much flack because I am speaking truth and honesty, and stuff that I’ve experienced and I’ve seen. Which should be embraced,” said Carli Lloyd in a recent episode of Cold As Balls.

So according to Lloyd, she is not getting the same responses from the fans as these NBA legends. Although she is experienced in her own field, fans have turned on Lloyd after her comments on her former team and teammates were deemed personal and uncalled for by many. While Shaq and Barkley have been rude to each other and to players on TV, their comments are often taken with a sign of respect as they have accomplished everything in their sport.

While Carli Lloyd has also accomplished a lot in soccer, her passionate commentary is often criticized by the fans. She just wants people to embrace her, similar to how they embrace these NBA legends as they give their honest opinions.

While fans often love it when athletes openly talk about their experiences, it is safe to say that Lloyd has not been at the receiving end of a positive response. Even when talked about the USWNT losing to an under-15 team yet going on to win the World Cup, the fans were quick to bash Carli and the team.

The same is happening, as she has now stepped into commenting on soccer matches. While she is bluntly talking about the performances and antics of players and coaches on the field, the fans are willing to embrace the honesty but are rather trying to make Lloyd change her way of thinking.
