Andre Iguodala takes after Tamika Tremaglio

On Gil’s Arena, while wrapping up the show, Josiah Johnson dropped some major news. Andre Iguodala is now the official acting executive director of the NBPA. After Tamika Tremaglio stepped down from the National Basketball Players Association, the board found a suitable candidate in Iguodala.

On hearing the news, Arenas hopped on the couch to speculate about the power that his old-time friend might hold. Well, he has two wishes already lined up. The initial one is an all-access pass, and the second is access to the archives. He said, “Iggy, you know what to do. I want an all-access pass and sh*t to the archive. I got some sh*t that I need to figure out: Who did what?” Apart from claiming that now he has the official status of an analyst, Arenas was all smiles for Iguodala.

After Tramaglio chose to pursue better opportunities, leaving behind her 4-year tenure halfway, the board was unclear about Iguodala’s willingness for the position. However, it seems intriguing how Tramaglio just met the Indiana Pacers and was planning to be back in Indianapolis for the All-Star weekend in February.

Well, Iggy seems honored to take on the role, benefiting the organization with his playing experience.

Andre Iguodala: From star forward to acting executive director

With an $80 million net worth, the NBA All-Star announced his retirement from the NBA in October, gearing up for better roles. He previously served with the association and completed his first 4-year term as vice president in February. While the NBA’s president, CJ McCollum, is vouching that the player’s on-court experience will pave the way for a better future for the organization, a search for his permanent role is due. A formal search to determine whether Iguodala is suitable to become a permanent executive director has yet to begin.

Passing on the position to Iggy, Tramaglio said, “I am grateful to CJ, Andre, the entire executive committee, and all of the players for the opportunity to serve them these past few years. I am confident that Andre will flourish in this role and continue to empower the players.”

Well, the future seems bright for the star forward. But do you think Iggy can arrange an all-access pass for Gilbert Arenas?
