On November 4, Spanish superstar Rafael Nadal got his 1000th career match win in the second round of the Paris Masters. He did have to work for it as his opponent Feliciano Lopez was playing some amazing tennis. However, in the end, Rafa emerged victorious 4-6, 7-6, 6-4.
After this win, the Spaniard has joined Roger Federer, Ivan Lendl and Jimmy Connors in the club of 1,000 wins. It is an incredible feat, and that is why NBA star and fellow countryman Pau Gasol congratulated him on Twitter. He said, “Another incredible milestone, Rafa!! 1000 career match wins!!! In the French Capital, the Spaniard is chasing the incredible Masters record. This is currently being held by Novak Djokovic, who took the lead by winning the Italian Open. However, he’s not playing in Paris, which gives Rafa the perfect opportunity to equal his record.
