The next generation was there in Las Vegas, battling it out for glory. No, we aren’t talking about the NBA’s Summer League. It was a contest between some of the best high school students. In particular, the spotlight shined on four players. Bryce James, son of LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony’s son, Kiyan and Carlos Boozer’s twins, Cameron and Cayden. Facing off at the Las Vegas Jr. Big Time Tournament, it was one of the most-anticipated matchups.

James and Anthony wore the Strive for Greatness colors, which previously sent fans into a frenzy. Facing off the Boozer twins, they led the Nightrydas Elite side. While they competed and gave the fans an electric matchup, the NBA world’s excitement grew as they could potentially be the next NBA legacys.

Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James’ sons take on high-ranked twins

The gym was set for an all-out war. Strive for Greatness had both Bryce James and Kiyan Anthony. The 6’6″ Bryce is a four-star recruit in the class of 2025. Though he isn’t ranked, he has generated curiosity due to his rampant growth spurt. At 16, he is already taller than his elder brother, Bronny James. Kiyan on the other hand has the scoring acumen like his father, Carmelo Anthony. He is ranked 52 in ESPN’s top 60.

The duo set fire in Las Vegas just last week. Notably, they did so in front of Chris Paul, a close friend of both of their fathers. But the challenge ahead was totally different. They had to take on the daunting Boozer twins, the sons of Carlos Boozer.

Let’s start with Cayden Boozer. At 6’3″, he plays the point guard, running the entire offense. He has excellent court visions and is more than competent as a floor general. While he occasionally scores, Cayden predominantly puts the ball exactly where his teammates desire. Oh, and he can shoot the ball.

Then there is Cameron Boozer. The teenager is already 6’9″, the height Carlos Boozer boasted for his entire NBA career. He is a true modern-day forward. The number one-ranked high school star has potent footwork, shot-blocking instincts, and a fast-improving jump shot. Unsurprisingly, colleges have lined up for him, including Duke.

As the two sides faced off, the game constantly turned tides. But Kiyan and Bryce couldn’t endure the wrath of Cameron and Cayden. Nightrydas Elite sustained their early lead and won the game 77-69.

With the NBA fans getting a glimpse of the future, they made their picks for the better potential.

The difference in skill, power, and chemistry was clear to see. Cayden and Cameron operated at their own pace, with their teammates running right with them. On the other hand, Strive for Greatness fell into a deep deficit early, a hole they couldn’t dig themselves out of by the end of the game.

Cameron Boozer, the nation’s number-one ranked high schooler shined brightly in the star-studded matchup. He finished the game with 20 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assists to lead the Elites to victory.

Back in their days as high schoolers, LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony hogged the spotlight. They were the undisputed stars. Most NBA fans would agree too. But that doesn’t mean they are holding their sons to the same pedestal.
