Dwight Howard is alone in Taiwan after failed recruitment

Howard recently issued a humorous invitation to NBA stars Kevin Durant, James Harden, Chris Paul, and Julius Randle, who had all been eliminated in the playoffs, to join him in the T1 League. In November of last year, Dwight Howard, three-time Defensive Player of the Year and 2020 NBA Champion, shifted to Taiwan after mostly fading out of the limelight in the NBA. Spending a season with the Taoyuan Leopards, the former Los Angeles Lakers big man, has found a great deal of joy in his current home.

So much so that the 1st pick from the 2004 NBA Draft is now hoping to share his joy with more NBA players.

He even posed in many commercials, exhilarating his alternative lifestyle. However, his Taiwan tenure didn’t end well after he was asked to take a pay cut of 65%. Howard signed a $1 million contract initially, but his time in Taiwan was cut short after just one season.

According to Howard, the paycut request felt ‘disrespectful’ to him. After all, he was working hard to improve the brand value of the league and bring more players overseas.

This is when I channelize my inner Harry Potter to create some fantasies and possibilities.
