Last season, Anthony Edwards called Kevin Durant “old” when they faced each other in the playoffs. The context was different, as Ant-Man considers KD his favorite player, and that was just banter during the game. This is unlike a comment that Joel Embiid made on LeBron James, which caused a lot of commotion and everybody expressed their opinions. Recently, former Lakers player Kwame Brown spoke bluntly about the matter.

On his YouTube channelBrown spoke highly of Embiid’s court play. But, he implied that the comments came from a place of frustration. Previously, Embiid had stated, “And the talent that’s on the U.S. team, you also got to understand most of those guys are older. The LeBron now is not the LeBron that was a couple of years ago. So it’s a big difference. Everybody would also tell you, and you can see for yourself, the athletic LeBron, dominant that he was a couple of years ago, is not the same that he is now.”

The NBA veteran Brown believed that Embiid and LeBron James both like to keep possession to make their team perform. Kwame Brown also said that an apology was due from the 76ers star and claimed that LeBron’s team of Rich Paul and Maverick Carter would ensure that Embiid puts out a tweet accepting his mistake.

However, that may not be enough. “Embiid boy, they about to send you back to France,Brown said, via Kwame Brown Bust Life. One thing to note here is the timing of the interview which clashed with South Sudan’s game. Though it was filmed beforehand, it was published on the day when LeBron’s clutch moment saved the team’s upset. “You also got to understand most of those guys are older. The LeBron now is not the LeBron that was a couple of years ago…and now they’re older. They’re not what they used to be.

Kwame Brown agreed with the sentiment about LeBron from Embiid’s comment. He said, “He (Embiid) said he’s (LeBron) not the player that he once was he’s not said anything wrong.” However, Brown argued that even though LeBron ain’t young, he is still performing phenomenally. After all, during the exhibition games, the Akron native was the top scorer averaging 14.2 points.

Not denying the age factor for LeBron and the other older players on the team, KD was also diplomatic in his stance in the press conference where he acknowledged that he was aware of Embiid’s comments. Since it involved two of his teammates, Durant did not throw any of his national teammates under the bus.

Kwame Brown was loud while KD was mindful

Of course, we’re older and we all have mileage on our bodies.” Kevin Durant spoke about Embiid’s comment in a press conference today. The Slim Reaper also praised the elite mentality of LeBron James. “The thing about greatness is that you adjust and continue to find ways to be effective. That’s what LeBron has done.”

Durant agreed with Embiid’s comment about LeBron not being young, however praised him for adapting, saying, “He’s not running and jumping the same way he was when he was 25, 26 years old, but he’s still jumping pretty high and running pretty fast.”

Unlike KD, Embiid hasn’t been diplomatic at all about his comments on his national teammate. Even though LeBron is pushing 40, his performance still makes him the number one on the team.
