Michael Jordan, the name synonymous with basketball greatness, might not strike you as a club-hopping, hip-hop aficionado. While he’s famously stated his preference for genres outside of rap, recent sightings have revealed a different side of the legend. It seems even MJ can’t resist a catchy beat, especially when it comes to celebrating with his wife. Let’s dive into the details of Jordan’s surprising musical moments and what they might reveal about the icon beyond the court.
His Airness may have a long list of favorite artists and singers, but there’s only one song tied to the Bulls that brings back the same shine and nostalgia from the ’90s when the Bulls dominated. And Jordan still seems to hold it close to his heart. The 6x NBA champ isn’t a big fan of rappers, as per Rapper N.O.R.E., who heard MJ saying “f— rap.” However, just a few days ago, he was seen vibing to a rapper’s new hit song at a famous club! As light is shed on the new details, he must have had a very special reason involving his wife.
It was Jordan’s wife Yvette Prieto’s birthday, and the two visited Mary Lou’s in West Palm Beach, Florida. Evoking a 1970s-era vibe in the interior, with muraled walls and disco balls, the spot, which opened in January this year, has gained much traction. As per reports, the Jordan couple and their friends were in attendance in early April. Both were present to watch the DJ duo Forester perform. In the end, Jordan was seen greeting the duo.

That wasn’t the only highlight. Clips of Jordan and Prieto dancing to Kendrick Lamar’s diss track Not Like Us at the club went viral. This diss track was reportedly aimed at the famed artist Drake. Now, new details revealed by a club publicist via email shared that the Bulls legend had a special request to the DJs, to play Prieto’s favorite song. “M.J. requested his wife’s favorite songs and they danced with their friends. Overall it was a fun, great evening,” the source said (as per The Palm Beach Post)

Taking her out to a party with her friends and then playing her favourite song to vibe to? And if this isn’t husband duties, then what is? Now, this could explain the viral moment. As we know, Jordan doesn’t like all the rap songs. It could also be that Jordan genuinely liked the track, like many others, thanks to its groovy tune. In any case, Jordan fulfilled his duties for sure.
The two really seemed to enjoy their time dancing out there. Just a few days before that, the couple was also seen in Europe sharing an adorable moment.

Both Jordan and his wife were also seen dining at the Bagatelle restaurant in Mykonos. When the music got too groovy, Jordan couldn’t stop himself from taking over the dance floor. He wore simple grey shorts and a black tee as he danced to the music. Prieto soon joined him.
It didn’t take long for the locals, and especially the saxophonist, to recognize the legend in the house. They had to pay the ultimate tribute! The saxophonist soon reached their table and played the iconic “Sirius” song by The Alan Parsons Project.

This was the intro song for the Chicago Bulls during the ’90s and holds meaning for the team as well as the fans who rooted for them. The couple and their friends at the table seemingly enjoyed the song as they clapped and grooved to the music. Jordan had a smile on his face as he clapped.
As the couple likes to stay away from the public eye, these are rare glimpses from their vacations, such as this!
