We have seen the exciting episode of The Daily Show featuring Dwyane Wade’s wife Gabrielle Union. Well, the show and the host just made history. Trevor Noah became the first person of color to claim victory in a prestigious category. The Daily Show With Trevor Noah secured its first Emmy Award for the best variety talk series since 2015. The 51-year-old quickly took to her Instagram stories to pen a heartfelt tribute to her friend’s milestone achievement. She shared Noah’s official Instagram post on her stories and wrote, “So Proud of you my friend.” It was a proud moment for the fans as well. Numerous such heartfelt messages also poured into the comment section of the post. Noah concluded his stint on The Daily Show in December 2022. However, due to writers and actors’ strikes causing a delay in the Emmys, the Television Academy is now recognizing outstanding TV achievements from the 2022-23 season.

The Daily Show has yet to appoint a permanent host and has been featuring guest hosts in rotation for now. Now that the show has seen its biggest achievement, fans look forward to the next host. The actor and comedian also shared a few words on his win.

Trevor Noah shared his gratitude for his Emmy win

In his speech, the South African comedian also thanked the other great variety talk shows. Other nominees were Late Night With Seth Meyers, Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, and The Problem With Jon Stewart.

He also thanked Jon Stewart who was the last host to receive the honor in 2015. “The person I always thank because he’s a crazy genius for thinking of it, Jon Stewart. Wherever you are my friend, thank you for calling me up and asking me to come and join you on this crazy journey,” said Trevor Noah.
