The Golden State Warriors are currently 10th in the Western Conference with just 8 wins out of 17. The 2022 NBA champions are clearly struggling in the initial stages of the new season and their star forward Draymond Green is not making it any easier for them.

Draymond’s recent involvement in an in-game, physical altercation with Timberwolves center, Rudy Gobert, has become a heated point of debate in the NBA community. The physical altercation cost Draymond Green a 5-game suspension and two retired NBA legends talk about the entire issue in a recent news interview.

Draymond Green’s Claim

In the physical altercation that took place between Draymond and Gobert, Draymond held Gobert by his neck in a chokehold lock. The game was immediately paused and the referees, players, and the team staff had to get involved to break up the brawl. Seconds before this happened, Rudy Gobert was trying to break up another in-game physical altercation between Klay Thompson and a Minnesota Timberwolves player, Jade McDaniels. Rudy Gobert held Klay Thompson from behind and that’s when Draymond rushed in and held Gobert by the neck.

Eight-time NBA All-Star Vince Carter and recently retired ex-Clippers star Lou Williams discuss specifically the reason behind Draymond Green’s physical altercation with Rudy Gobert. In a recent “Run It Back” interview, the host mentions that Draymond Green just made his return to the NBA after serving his five-game suspension. However, the host then mentions that Draymond Green claims he has “no regrets” about what had happened with him and Rudy Gobert.

Vince Carter then gives his verdict on Draymond Green’s actions, “First of all, let me start off by saying that’s a wild boy…he’s a wild boy. The fact that he’s saying  ‘I got to protect my teammate at all costs.’ okay cool…but at some point, I mean you got the boy like…it’s almost night-night time.

Lou Williams then adds, “It has actually nothing to do with his teammate. He got pushed and he went to go get his lick back.” Vince Carter immediately agrees, “Exactly! He saw his opportunity like, ‘Oh…right now. This is my chance. Come here, boy.
