Michael Jordan ranks 379 among the 400 Richest People in America via Forbes. Since retiring from the NBA, he has been spending a quiet life away from the limelight. MJ spends the majority of his time with family, on his new golf course, The Grove XXIII, or with his new team. Jordan has been co-owner of 23XI Racing NASCAR for nearly 3 years now and recently was at Talladega for the GEICO 500 Race. Eagle-eyed fans spotted the never-seen-before 8-figure asset on Jordan.

Interestingly it is not the only asset Jordan has added to his collection. The Chicago Bulls legend recently purchased a property in The Bear’s Club in Jupiter, Florida. The six-time NBA champ reportedly paid between $16 million and $19 million for his new mansion in Florida. Jordan and his wife Yvette Prieto have been residing in the Jack Nicklaus’ exclusive Bear’s Club community since 2013. Despite owning such a mansion, Jordan decided to spend his time on track with his team.

He was so happy with his driver Tyler Reddick’s performance that he even scooped up Reddick’s 4-year-old son in his arms while celebrating. During the celebration, the world got to witness the new 8-figure asset on his left hand. According to GQ, the Purnell Escape II Absolute Sapphire Blue Moon is a rare, ludicrously expensive timepiece valued at $2 Million.

During the celebration, Jordan said, ” This to me is like an NBA playoff game, I am so ecstatic… To my wife and my kids and everybody: Yeah we did it! I’m sorry I left you home.” You might be wondering how Jordan ended up being a co-owner of a NASCAR team. Well according to Denny Hamlin the co-owner of 23XI Racing, “It was an accident” Hamlin told Barstool Sports’ journalist Frank Fleming.

Denny Hamlin then joked about this with his basketball friend. But the humor-laden conversation soon took a serious shade. “So I sent him the article and said, ‘Hey, it looks like we’re going into business together‘. He (Michael Jordan) says, ‘Ha ha. That’s obviously fake news, but if you wanna make some real news, let me know’… I say, ‘What do you mean?‘ He says, ‘Well, are you gonna be a team owner or not?‘ I say, ‘Given the right situation, yes.‘ He says, ‘Well if you want a partner, let me know’.”

Then, the rest was history, as both athletes conjured a feasible business plan. Hamlin continued: “For the next month and a half to two months, his group vetted it, looked it over, and said, ‘We’re in.‘”
